My academic translations have been published by Brepols and Routledge (see my LinkedIn for details). As an editor, I’ve helped prepare articles for submission to numerous journals. I co-translated and co-edited Origine des instruments de musique – a highly technical monograph by pioneering anthropologist and musicologist André Schaeffner.
I’m also a classical singer who studied music at Yale and McGill. Together with Nate Barnett, I founded The Uncommon Music Festival, an arts non-profit in its eighth year. After securing numerous grants for myself and for the Festival, I started grant-writing for other creatives: visual artists, filmmakers, authors, and more. I help Canadian artists understand the grant ecosystem, save time, and find funding.
I am a certified translator and member of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ). In my free time, I serve on the Women’s Committee of the Union des artistes, volunteer with Concordia’s Centre for Gender Advocacy, and spend time with my cats.

“As a translator for a Québec public-sector union, I can attest to Ariadne’s talent in preliminary copy editing and revising. Before finalizing an English translation of a local collective agreement, I called on Ariadne to check that nothing was missing and flag any inconsistencies or errors. Ariadne surpassed my expectations with her careful, meticulous and efficient comparison of the French and English texts. Her comments, questions, suggestions and research were thoughtful, perceptive and clear. She covered the 100-page document well within the time limit, tackling the complexity and nuances of the text with aplomb.”

“Ariadne translated and revised the Montréal Baroque Festival’s entire 2023 marketing campaign. As a professional musician herself, Ariadne has an in-depth knowledge of arts and culture. She quickly grasped our communications’ message and tone, delivering high-quality work on time.”
Ève Gendreau
former executive director of the Montréal Baroque Festival
“As an intern at the Translation Bureau, Ariadne provided highly accurate, idiomatic and creative translations, supported by exceptionally thorough research. She is an excellent reviser and a clear and tactful communicator.”

“Ariadne’s comments about issues or ambiguities in the text are always very helpful. It’s wonderful to work with someone who does more than just mechanical translation – she reads attentively and understands the text.”
